About The Opportunity
Position Summary
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for operating and maintaining automation equipment as well as assist with general production requirements.
Key Duties And Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair ORBIS automated production equipment including, but not limited to, machinery, equipment, physical structures, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulics
  • Follow blueprints, specifications, diagrams and service manuals to repair and maintain equipment
  • Develop and maintain PM programs
  • Develop and maintain inventory controls for repair parts and tool inventories
  • Support existing and future projects during installations, start-up, and long term operation
  • Assist in daily/weekly training warehouse personnel
  • Assist with special machinery and expansion projects as directed by management
  • Continuously seeking to improve upon existing methods of operation, by research and development to improve our safety, quality and cost performance
  • Proactively investigate needs, evaluate issues, and present/recommend alternatives in an effort to decrease overall facility operational downtime thus increasing overall operational effectiveness
  • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) as identified by ORBIS corporate

Education Required
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Education Desired
Associate’s Degree
Other Certifications Required Or Desired
Industrial / manufacturing - mechanical & electrical, electronics preferred
Skills & Experience
Work Experience Required
  • 3-5 years of experience in general maintenance machine operations, forklifts and general facility maintenance
  • 3-5 years’ experience working with steam generators or equivalent preferred
Knowledge, Skills, Or Abilities Desired
  • Proven planning and organizational skills with the ability to handle high volume mechanical requirements
  • Demonstrated successes in handling multiple high priority projects, in addition to normal responsibilities
  • Willing to work non-traditional hours including nights, weekends and holidays with on-call availability as needed
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent computer skills-Word and Excel proficiency
  • Knowledge of OSHA and Lockout-Tagout procedures and regulations
  • Knowledge of air compressors
  • Ability to work safely with 3 phase 480 volt power systems
  • Knowledge of Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) systems and troubleshooting
  • Previous Forklift Certification preferred
  • Ability to quickly interpret, analyze, and report issues with machines/facility components
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment

Ability/willingness to travel to other Service Centers to assist with troubleshooting or installation of new equipment
