About The Opportunity
Position Summary
Responsible for the design and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure that quality standards are met during production. Oversees testing of processes and products.

 

Essential to this Position
  • Ensure that all aspects of the handling, packaging and shipping of finished goods products at the site comply with the requirements and meet all relevant cGMP regulatory requirements
  • Ensure that Quality Operations responsibilities for audits, investigations, regulatory document reviews, SOPs, change control documentation (including validation and qualification), and other Quality Assurance related systems are properly implemented, conducted, and documented
  • Initiate, review and/or approval of Deviations, Customer Complaints, CAPAs, and Change Controls when initiated within the Quality Department
  • Prepare metric reports for Management and Customers
  • Ensures proper handling of any recalled lots on hand
  • Responsible for the control and ultimate disposition of in-process materials and for the final release of finished goods from the facility
  • Interact with Supply Chain, Production, Inventory, and Logistics support operations
  • Facilitate customer, internal and regulatory audits
  • Review annual GMP Training documents
  • Provide ongoing management, motivation and development of staff members
  • Ensure that the department operates in an efficient manner and maintains an innovative approach based on implementation of best practices
  • Assist with the establishment of appropriate Quality KPI and metrics tracking/reporting for the facility
  • Manages the site’s quality department and its personnel, including the establishment of goals, schedules, priorities, hiring and training
  • Approve Rework protocols
  • Oversee Change Control Program
  • Review/approve validation protocols and assist in execution
  • Originate or implement improvements to Quality procedures as necessary
  • Responsible for working safely, following and complying with Company GMP’s (Good Manufacturing Practices), and maintaining quality work and product

At least 6 years relevant experience required.
Knowledge, Skills, Or Abilities Desired
  • Knowledge of and ability to use and influence organization's policies, standards and procedures guiding manufacturing processes
  • Knowledge of methods, accepted practices, considerations and regulatory requirements associated with safety and protection of workers, environment and site
  • Knowledge of the existing and planned approaches and methods for manufacturing products or product components
  • Knowledge of the day-to-day operations of a manufacturing plant or facility
  • Knowledge of and experience with effectively managing changes to the production environment and process
  • Knowledge of and ability to identify a problem and use a disciplined approach to bringing that problem to a successful resolution
Additional Requirements
  • Master’s degree preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years combination of training, education and/or experience that provides the required knowledge and abilities to perform the duties listed above
  • Experience in Regulated Products (Drugs, Med Devices, Cosmetics and Dietary Supplements)
  • Strong knowledge of FDA regulations, cGMP regulations, and Safety
  • Demonstrated ability to build and lead strong teams and collaborate with internal/external partners
  • Strong communication/analytical skills (written/oral). Bilingual Spanish preferred
  • High degree of problem-solving skills and have demonstrated ability to independently manage multiple high-level priority projects/workload, ensuring timely completion
  • Ability to delegate and direct others
  • Good negotiation skills with customer-oriented attitude
  • Ability to initiate team meetings to address special projects or important changes in customer process; be able to provide meeting minutes and follow up action items
  • Strong knowledge of MS Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct thorough investigations:
  • o Root cause analysis
  • o Non-Conformance investigations
  • o Corrective and Preventive Action
  • ASQ or other Quality certification is preferred
  • Some traveling required
