About The Opportunity
Position Summary
Responsible for the design and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure that quality standards are met during production. Oversees testing of processes and products.
Key Duties And Responsibilities
  • Establishes site(s) strategies, systems and controls to support company and customer objectives in the areas of Quality
  • Assurance/Compliance
  • Establishes and reports site(s) key Quality performance metrics and provides leadership support to assigned sites to ensure scorecard objectives are met
  • Implements and maintains overarching Quality framework, which utilizes assessment, training, and monitoring techniques
  • to ensure compliance with federal, state and local laws and regulations, and independent agency standards
  • Establishes and assures implementation of company-wide Quality programs
  • Manages quality incident resolution process including completion of root cause analyses, calculation of total cost of quality,
  • implementation of corrective actions, and communication to key stakeholders
  • Addresses Quality concerns and operational improvement opportunities working with key stakeholders and implementing
  • corrective actions
  • Manages the external/internal audit processes and supports site Quality representative responsible for executing any
  • needed corrective action to address audit deficiencies
  • Provides guidance on staffing, training, employee relations and performance management to develop and enhance the
  • Quality function, working closely with direct reports
  • Maintains industry, professional and technical knowledge by networking, attending industry events, and reviewing
  • professional publications

 

Essential to this Position

Ensure customer and business requirements are met by promoting employee engagement, managing the plant Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring compliance with the ORBIS QMS and driving continuous improvement.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure timely resolution of customer complaints through execution, facilitation, continuous follow up, communications, and/or re-work (including on-site) 
  • Communicate, and problem solve with customers and the organization as needed
  • Manage product/process trials concerning new products, existing molds, material trials, and improvement projects
  • Develop capable production processes for new and existing products using process flow diagrams, PFMEAs, controlplans, SPC, standard work, gage R & R, and gage development activities
  • Drive execution of, maintain, improve and train as it relates to local process ownership, the ORBIS production system, quality plan, process capability, calibration, internal audits/cross plant audits, corrective and preventive action, and DMs
  • Monitor, analyze and report performance metrics to local and corporate
  • Lead / Promote problem solving and ensure continuous improvement utilizing the CAPA system, designed experiments, Six Sigma/Lead methodologies, and other problem-solving methodologies
  • Maintain documents per DMS and retention requirements
  • Drive development and application of standard work across plant/production activities
  • Provide hands on training on the floor to operators, processors and staff
  • Drive companywide improvement of the QMS (Internal audits, 3rd party audits, customer complaints, risks, and opportunities)
