About The Opportunity
Position Summary
Assists with the development and maintenance of the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) program. Customizes and configures workflow to allow the integration of client/server applications. Tests ERP layout to ensure the system is meeting corporate needs.


Essential to this Position

This position is responsible for coordinating Information Technology to effectively support the ORBIS Finance and Accounting departments.  Responsible for the evaluation and determination of business requirements, potential design considerations and support of ORBIS Corporation’s SAP Financial systems, including General Ledger, Cost Accounting and/or Profit Center Accounting. 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the development and support of specific SAP FI/CO functionality and processes across the business, particularly in Profitability Analysis (COPA)
  • Responsible for evaluating, implementing and supporting business requirements for our domestic and foreign operations, including not only Finance but also government reporting requirement and interfaces
  • Ensure General Ledger, General Accounting, Cost Accounting and Profit Center Accounting modules within SAP function in unison with other SAP modules
  • Possess an in-depth understand of Finance and Accounting functions/processes and be viewed as a credible representative
  • Assist in the development and implementation of improved business processes
  • Support the SAP-FI/CO modules.  Support in resolving SAP application issues submitted by the end user community.  Support of system enhancement initiatives and expanding SAP system financial functionality, consultation and recommendations in the use of financial system functionality to the user community
  • Application training to the ORBIS user community
  • Provide transactional support, as required, to the Finance and Accounting Departments during Mon and Year-End close procedures
  • Provide services to the financial community to define business requirements in one or more financial functional areas including General Ledger, Cost Accounting, Profit Center or Financial Accounting
  • Develop technical specifications and/or programming for identified CO/PA reporting requirements
  • Participate in all phases of the application development cycle including needs assessment, project planning, implementation, training and on-going support
  • Develop process designs and specifications, including both ‘as is’ and ‘to be’ documentation
  • Perform SAP functionality evaluations and testing to satisfy requirements
  • Provide effective solutions to business requirements using existing SAP applications
  • Recommend solutions for requirements at are not met by existing applications.  (May be modifications, enhancements, and/or new software)
  • Identify and define effective process and procedural changes to maximize application utilization
  • Provide support in the ERP MM/PP modules when required to balance workload for customer requested enhancements and support.  This would require working with internal business analysts in these respective functional areas
  • Coordinate and conduct system testing provide process documentation
  • Coordinate and conduct client acceptance testing

  • Knowledge of organization's total Information Technology (IT) environment
  • Knowledge of and ability to elicit, analyze and record required business functionality and non-functionality requirements to ensure the success of a system or software development project
  • Knowledge of application design activities, tools and techniques; ability to utilize these to convert business requirements and logical models into a technical application design
  • Knowledge of and experience with implementing purchased application software and integrating It with company applications, data bases and technology platforms
  • Knowledge of application testing and ability to design, plan and execute application testing strategies and tactics to ensure software quality throughout all stages of application development
  • Knowledge of and ability to utilize a variety of specific tools and toolkits for the development and support of applications
Additional Requirements
  • Minimum of 1 year performing financial systems analysis, business application implementation, business requirements and support
  • Work experience in a manufacturing organization with strengths in one or more of the following areas: SAP Financial Systems, including General Ledger, Cost Accounting or Profit Center Accounting,
  • Experience in systems development (traditional life cycle), systems analysis, business application implementation and support
  • Project Management experience, including developing and administering a project task list/plan
  • Previous Experience with ERP Financial Systems
  • Provide application support services to the organization and have in-depth knowledge in specific business application areas
