About The Opportunity
Generates new business and ensures growth of existing accounts. Assesses potential application of company products or services and offers solutions that meet customer needs. Researches and presents reports showing potential customers the cost benefit of purchasing company products or services. Provides technical training to clients and communicates customer feedback for future product developments. Uses technical knowledge of product offerings to support and build sales.
Essential to this Position
Manage the overall Sales Engineering function with an emphasis on the development and growth of custom interiors.
Establish overall Sales and Revenue targets for the Sales Engineer function.
In coordination with the Sales Leadership, identify and penetrate large order opportunities for custom interiors and protective packaging (returnable and expendable)
Achieve effective territory coverage through a combination of joint and independent sales calls, working closely with Orbis territory account managers
Prospecting to grow customer base within across industries
Manage the activities of the Sales Engineers
Establish individual annual quotas for the Sales Engineers
Participate in customer visits and on-site consultation to drive both returnable and expendable interior and protective packaging revenue
Drive new market development (e.g., rack, general interior, electronics) as well as new product introductions
Maintain exceptional communication with Sales Leadership to ensure an effective team selling effort across territories and accounts
Develop new and innovative approached to market requirements
Ensure cost estimates are provided with in a timely manner while adhering to sound engineering principals and ISO compliance
This position will support the execution and continuous improvement of the quality policy and procedures as appropriately defined by their direct manager
Education / Certifications
Skills & Experience
Work Experience Required
At least 7 years relevant experience required.
Knowledge, Skills, Or Abilities Desired
Knowledge of the major responsibilities, accountabilities, and organization of the sales function or business unit
Knowledge of and ability to use diverse tools, tactics and techniques to persuade a person to perform a desired action
Knowledge of processes, tools, techniques and theory behind selling the organization's products or services
Knowledge of and ability to utilize customer profile and information
Knowledge of and ability to coordinate multiple and diverse options for selling organization's products and services
Knowledge of specific products and associated development process and strategy
Experience in leading a group of Sales Engineers
Automotive industry experience a plus
Balance of sales and engineering skills
CAD design capability
3-5 years direct customer contact
