About The Opportunity
Position Summary
Supervises the daily activities of the inventory control staff. Ensures adequate levels of material and/or product inventories are maintained. Responsible for evaluating inventory needs and implementing strategies to meet those needs. A level II supervisor has authority for personnel actions and oversees most day to day operations of the group.
Key Duties And Responsibilities
  • Implements inventory management strategies to assure company objectives in the areas of safety, productivity, quality,
  • customer service, cost and profitability
  • Directs staffing, training, and performance management to develop and improve inventory management function
  • Manages and tracks product inventories, providing direction on work in process, finished goods and aged inventories to
  • assure financial reconciliation and inventory integrity
  • Directs and prioritizes the daily activities including job packet review, cycle counts, audits, damaged material management,
  • and waste tracking and disposal
  • Drives continuous improvement initiatives for inventory management process and information flow
  • Prepares and reviews required business reports

High School Diploma or Equivalent
Education Desired
Bachelor’s Degree
Skills & Experience
Work Experience Required
At least 4 years relevant experience required.
Knowledge, Skills, Or Abilities Desired
  • Knowledge of and ability to use and influence organization's policies, standards and procedures guiding manufacturing
  • processes
  • Knowledge of strategies and tools for controlling and optimizing the factors that lie between the purchase of raw materials
  • and delivery of finished products
  • Ability to effectively manage the business relationship and transactions with the suppliers of raw materials or product
  • components
  • Knowledge of issues and considerations for effectively managing local or distributed inventories of raw materials, work in
  • progress and finished goods
  • Knowledge of the processes, tools and operational considerations for effective and efficient movement of goods and
  • materials throughout the manufacturing cycle
  • Knowledge of the day-to-day operations of a manufacturing plant or facility
