About The Opportunity
Position Summary
Administers policies and procedures that cover two or more functional areas in the environmental, health and safety job family. Ensures employees in functional areas follow established procedures and ensure company compliance with federal, state and local regulations.

 

Essential to this Position

Exciting opportunity to join the York, PA team  and develop programs, oversee and manage all aspects of environmental, health and safety compliance at the designated work facilities. The position leads initiatives and processes to ensure a safe working environment for all employees, as well as assures compliance with current environmental laws and regulations.  

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide management with guidance on allowable/acceptable products and processes that minimize environmental/health impacts (EHS Manager major activity)
  • Conduct routine safety walk-throughs to evaluate compliance and look for opportunities to improve environmental/industrial health aspects of the operation
  • Lead EHS teams to gain employee involvement
  • Routine and non-routine reporting
  • Manage Worker’s Compensation cases
  • Approve/disapprove new products and SDS's for safety/environmental impacts
  • Utilize Chemical Information Management Systems to evaluate new products and to determine compliance needs
  • Develop and maintain complete SDS files/system for employees to review product health and safety data
  • Develop and manage plans and training programs including; lock out/tag out, hazardous waste reduction, emergency response, hazard communication (employee right-to-know), spill response, Pollution Incident Prevention Plan, hearing conservation, respiratory protection
  • Manage Hazardous Waste in accordance with all applicable regulations 
  • Evaluate Capital Budget Requests for environmental impact 
  • Conduct Waste Minimization audits and oversee steps to reduce waste
  • Conduct Industrial Health exposure assessments
  • Monitor and maintain personal protective equipment supply, usage and requirements

  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Must possess practical knowledge of appropriate safety and environmental regulations
  • Must be able to work with all levels in the organization

Knowledge, Skills, Or Abilities Desired
  • Knowledge of organization's and industry's manufacturing technologies, processes, innovations, issues and initiatives
  • Knowledge and understanding of federal, state and local laws and regulations affecting manufacturing practices and activities
  • Knowledge of methods, accepted practices, considerations and regulatory requirements associated with safety and protection of workers, environment and site
  • Knowledge of materials used in the manufacturing process and of safe practices for physical management of raw and/or hazardous materials
  • Knowledge of day-to-day and strategic issues, operational requirements and management of a manufacturing facility
  • Knowledge of technologies and applications used in manufacturing products and in the optimization of manufacturing processes
