About The Opportunity
Position Summary
A General Labor person consists of assisting the operators at various machine centers throughout the plant. This full time person will fill in for people when are they are out ill, on a leave of absence or on vacation. The General Labor person must work the necessary overtime as required.
Key Duties And Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate commitment to safety and perform job duties in accordance with company safety policies and procedures
  • Maintain high efficiency according to established rates during operation of the assigned equipment
  • Complete required quality inspections per customer specifications and paperwork – quality is the responsibility of all employees
  • Work with peers and other departments to improve quality and performance
  • Provide an active role in the housekeeping of the assigned area
  • Understand department communication systems, schedules, time/attendance system and job reporting requirements
  • Work in die cutting as the asst operator
  • Remove corrugated sheets from back of die cutter
  • Help Die Cut Operator set-up the machine
  • Work on the Automatan as an asst operator
  • Feed corrugated sheets into the Automatan
  • Work in the Corrugator Dept. as the Offbearer or the Baler Opr
  • Place load ticket into units of corrugated sheets
  • Complete necessary paperwork
  • Work on the Specialty Folder Gluer as a Helper
  • Remove bundles of corrugated stock and stack

 

Essential to this Position

Wages starting between $18.89-$19.29

  • Read a tape measure/ ruler
  • Good mathematical skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Computer knowledge
  • Trouble shooting skills
  • Ability to read and count
Additional Requirements
Physical Requirements
  • Able to safely and repetitively lift 25 lbs.
  • Able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Ability to bend, twist and squat
  • Able to stand 8 to 12 hours per day- work flexible schedule as needed
  • Must be able to visually distinguish color
  • Able to reach overhead
  • Able to step up and down stairs/platforms
