About The Opportunity
As a VFFS Machine Operator you will set up, operate, and tend to machinery and equipment, but not limited to VFFS equipment. You will ensure that pouched products are manufactured safely and at the highest quality. You will also follow SOPs for set-up, cleaning, running, and troubleshooting machines. You must keep accurate records and work closely with Quality Control.
Key Duties And Responsibilities
Follow all safety procedures
Able to troubleshoot problems on Bagger (VFFS)
Operate and maintain machinery. Perform a variety of inspections, make adjustments and preventive maintenance
Assist mechanics in troubleshooting
Check codes as required
Perform packaging integrity checks
Maintain paper work
Perform package and flavor changes
Interact with mechanics during machine changeovers
Keep equipment clean
Perform cleaning tasks during the shift, at the end of the shift and at shutdowns
Follow instructions from supervision (regarding policies, procedures and all changes that may occur)
Has foresight and understanding of process to be proactive vs. reactive
You must be able to perform in a group setting or alone
Ensures product weight specifications are being met. Operating all packing machines at specified efficiency (speed)
Assists in preparing for shift production
Shut off machinery before clearing jams. Ensure equipment lockout procedure is used prior to doing any cleaning or adjustment/repair which requires safety guards to be removed or which may expose employees to injury through inadvertent movement of machine parts
Complete all company required paperwork to document periodic quality checks, to account for product produced, and to provide other records as required by the company
Essential to this Position
D shift is Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 4:30pm-5am.

High School Diploma or Equivalent

Skills & Experience
Work Experience Required
At least 3 years experience in an manufacturing position.
Knowledge, Skills, Or Abilities Desired
Ability to perform film changes
Ability to utilize tools to make minor adjustments
Ability to interact with machine interfaces to trouble shoot and make minor adjustments.
Ability to learn Business operating system for planning, scheduling, inventory mgmt. (WMS).
Basic computer skills
Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to plan ahead and follow schedules
Excellent record keeping skills
Safe work practices
Good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate professionally with co-workers
Have a strong work ethic and be able to work independently as well as working in a team
Demonstrates attention to detail, a professional attitude, and produces accurate work product
Excellent communication skills
Work is performed primarily in a fast-paced environment
Required to frequently sit, stand or walk for extended periods across designated facility
