About The Opportunity
Position Summary
The Press Floating Feeder - Offset is responsible for assisting in routine aspects of press operation by performing manual and machine operator tasks in the set-up, maintenance and operation of Menasha's offset presses. The Press Floating Feeder - Offset assists operations in achieving quality and throughput goals and further assists press operators in maximizing press throughput. The primary responsibilities of the Press Floating Feeder - Offset are to assist press operators with all make-ready responsibilities and flip stock in order to keep the presses running and staged for upcoming jobs. They will be responsible for ensuring that presses are supplied properly prior to print production, to ensure press efficiencies are met.
Key Duties And Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate commitment to safety and performs job duties in accordance with company safety policies and procedures
  • Understand job ticket information to determine quantity, stock specifications, special work instructions, and any other special customer requirements
  • Review the schedule and stage required stock and materials needed for upcoming jobs
  • Set up the press feeder and keep it running properly
  • Fill containers of cleaning solvents, water, fountain solution and ink as needed
  • Adjust press throughout the run to maintain sheet position and registration
  • Assist with the removal, replacement, and maintenance of rollers
  • Must be qualified to operate skid turners and lift truck equipment
  • Responsible for weekly Preventive Maintenance and housekeeping duties
  • Assist with decisions regarding the quality of finished product
  • Complete required quality inspections and paperwork
  • Work with peers and other departments to improve quality and performance
  • Contribute to overtime needs to meet customer demands
  • Ability to act as a backup Feeder in all functions of the feeder position
  • Understand department communication systems, schedules, time/attendance system and job reporting requirements
  • Actively participate in Lean manufacturing initiatives

  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Is attentive to detail & accuracy, has good color perception, looks for improvements to work processes and takes advantage of tools & resources, finds root cause to quality problems

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand 8-12 hours
  • Must be able to use hands for grasping product, pushing & pulling skids of product using manual pallet jack, reaching above shoulder height at times to remove items from shelving units
  • Must be able to lift a maximum of 50 lbs.
  • Frequent bending, lifting, walking, and climbing stairs of press
