Essential to this Position

This position has strategic oversight of both Sales and Operations for Menasha Packaging's materials manufacturing and contract packaging/fulfilment businesses in the West region.

The following duties are normal for this position.  The incumbent may perform some or all of these duties however; it is not an exclusive or all-inclusive list.  Other duties may be assigned.

  • Responsible for Sales & Operations with the emphasis on commercial growth.
  • Identify market opportunities that are served by our value proposition and continuously improve the Sales pipeline
  • Establish and maintain good customer relations by promoting a positive company image through personal involvement. 
  • Direct Sales, Customer Service and Project Management in setting goals and objectives that lead to the growth and development of profitable Trade Sales. 
  • Provide vision and leadership to all employees, especially in the areas of safety, continuous improvement, new business development and business performance. 
  • Work with the Operations leaders to achieve operational cost, quality and service levels that allow Menasha to win in the market. 
  • Evaluate the need for capital investments and recommend equipment for purchase including the preparation of capital expenditure justifications.
  • Participate in the budgeting/planning processes for the area of responsibility including Sales, capital budget, staffing, and operational costs. 
  • Oversee and participate in the development of new products in order to expand and improve existing business and capitalize on new market opportunities. 
  • Analyze monthly results and direct actions towards improvements and/or cost controls. 
  • Motivate direct reports and business partners to succeed by establishing clear goals and objectives, providing freedom and autonomy within their work, and constructive feedback and coaching.  
  • Ensure the overall maintenance of facilities, grounds, utilities and equipment.
  • Lead and direct the development of departmental staff including selection, orientation, training, succession planning, performance management, evaluation, coaching and discipline.

Work Experience Required
At least 10 years relevant experience required.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and business professionalism
  • Knowledge of and ability to train/coach others on the processes, tools, techniques and theory behind selling the organization's products or services
  • Intelligent, creative and intuitive
  • Strong financial acumen with proven analytical and problem solving abilities
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment

  • Knowledge of methods, accepted practices, considerations and regulatory requirements associated with safety and protection of workers, environments and sites
  • Knowledge of the processes, tools and operational considerations for effective and efficient movement of goods and materials throughout the manufacturing cycle
  • Knowledge of day-to-day and strategic issues, operational requirements and management of manufacturing facilities
  • Knowledge of the existing and planned approaches and methods for manufacturing products or product components
  • Knowledge of and ability to use and influence organization's policies, standards and procedures guiding manufacturing processes
  • Solid working knowledge of budgeting, business development and strategic planning
  • Ability to drive and manage change initiatives
  • Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, reasoning and listening skills
